Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit

After 16 years of thrilling guests, Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit officially closed its doors at Universal Studios Florida on August 18, 2025. Debuting in 2009, this iconic 161-foot-tall roller coaster quickly became a standout attraction thanks to its towering vertical lift, high-speed drops, and unique feature that allowed riders to choose their own soundtrack during the ride.

Over the years, the ride received mixed reviews. Many guests praised its innovative concept and exhilarating experience, while others criticized its roughness and limited music options. In recent years, attendance declined, ultimately leading to the decision to retire the attraction.

Following the closure, demolition crews began dismantling the coaster, signaling the end of an era for Universal Studios Florida. Although details about its replacement are scarce, construction permits suggest that a new, possibly larger roller coaster will take its place in the future.

For countless visitors, Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit will be remembered for its bold design, adrenaline-pumping thrills, and the unique way it combined music with the roller coaster experience. Its closure marks the end of an iconic chapter in the park’s history, as Universal looks forward to introducing the next generation of attractions.
